Anything is possible. To Mr. Bordonaro's point in his latest editorial, we need a problem solver more than we need an ideologue; though it should be noted that pragmatism often is, in itself, a dangerous and unsustainable ideology. The 1991 income tax was a pragmatic silver bullet solution to a temporal problem, but, rather than putting Hartford into balance it only increased the government's capacity for future "problem solving."

This might be the year. Independents could see support from Democrats who have been disappointed with Malloy and from Republicans unimpressed with the party choice.

We need an outsider to clean up CT's swamp, but one person isn't going to be able to do it, unfortunately. CT has been destroyed by NY (city) values.
