Hamden eatery to make ADA changes

Hamden's Ibiza Restaurant has agreed to make changes to allow individuals with disabilities to access its dining space, authorities say.

The Connecticut U.S. Attorney's Office announced Friday a settlement with Ibiza and landlord Mangos LLC covering compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.

Both parties cooperated with federal investigators and their agreement avoided the need for litigation, investigators said.

Mangos pledged over the next 12 months to create more accessible parking for Ibiza and its other commercial tenant; remediating the sidewalk from the parking area to the tenants' entrances; and adding a ramp from the sidewalk to their front doors, authorities said.

Ibiza agreed to make its changes over the next 18 months, they said.
