A Maine provider of IT services has expanded into Connecticut with the acquisition of a division of Wallingford-based Forza Technology Solutions, the company said.

Portland-based Winxnet on Thursday announced it acquired the managed-services unit of Forza, an IT provider and software developer headquartered at 329 Main St., for an undisclosed amount.

Winxnet CEO Chris Claudio says his firm is increasing its IT footprint as more companies outsource all or a portion of their IT support.

This mark's Winxnet's second acquisition since July, when the company created a coast-to-coast presence with the purchase of San Diego-based K&R Network Solutions Inc., which also provides IT services.

As of July, Winxnet said it had more than 130 employees between offices in Portland, San Diego, Lawrence, Mass. and Chattanooga, Tenn.
