Nomination deadline looms for Nonprofit and Community Excellence Awards

Nominations are open for the Hartford Business Journal's inaugural Nonprofit and Community Excellence Awards to recognize excellence in nonprofits and business philanthropy.

The Nov. 16 event will honor nonprofits and nonprofit executives who have made significant impacts on the community over the last year, along with businesses and business leaders who have supported them.

The nomination deadline is Sept. 13.

Nominees -- who may self-nominate -- must be individuals or organizations operating or based in the 61 towns of central Connecticut. Companies are eligible to win multiple awards in different categories. Top awards are corporate citizen of the year and nonprofit organization of the year.

For a complete list of categories, eligible towns, and nomination criteria, or to nominate a nonprofit or individual, visit the HBJ nomination page.
