Sales of Connecticut houses and condos flattened in October, yet their median prices posted modest gains, Realtors say.

There were 2,919 single-family dwellings sold statewide last month, essentially flat vs. the 2,936 units sold in Oct. 2016, the Connecticut Realtors said Wednesday.

Median house prices in October rose 2 percent to $250,000 from $245,000 a year earlier.

In the condo-townhome sector, 731 units sold last month vs. 741 a year ago -- 1.6 percent decline.

Their median price grew 2.5 percent to $163,000 vs. $159,000 a year earlier.

One day earlier, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors reported that Hartford area home sales and prices rose in October.
