More free parking in downtown New Britain is open to riders of the CTfastrak busway linked to downtown Hartford, state transit officials say.

Starting today, the state Department of Transportation announced Monday that CTfastrak customers can park free in 100 designated spaces in downtown New Britain's Szczesny Garage at 35 Bank St.

Also, a free overflow lot has been added at 1360 East St., formerly Dawg House restaurant, across from the city's East Street Station.
