Hexcel completes acquisition of South Windsor firm's business unit

Stamford's Hexcel Corp. says it has completed its acquisition of the aerospace and defense operations of South Windsor additive manufacturer Oxford Performance Materials Inc. (OPM).

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Hexcel announced Friday that the completed deal includes the acquisition of OPM's aerospace and defense business operations. Other OPM business units are not included in the acquisition.

Hexcel had invested more than $25 million in OPM in the last two years, prior to announcing its acquisition, regulatory filings show.

Hexcel said it will remain a shareholder in OPM and will retain its seat on the company's board of directors.

Hexcel supplies advanced composites technology for commercial aerospace, space and defense and industrial uses. OPM develops thermoplastics for biomedical, aerospace and industrial applications.
