Behavioral health provider inks Cigna agreement

A Los Angeles company with a program to treat health plan members with anxiety, depression or substance use disorders that cause or exacerbate co-existing medical conditions has signed an agreement with Bloomfield health insurer Cigna Corp.

Catasys Inc. said Cigna is the sixth national health plan that has signed a contract to provide its OnTrak solution to its members.

Catasys, which offers its program in 19 states, including Connecticut, uses advanced data analytics and predictive modeling to identify behavioral health members with disorders that exacerbate co-existing medical conditions and engages them in supportive treatment. Its OnTrak program utilizes proprietary analytics and enrollment, engagement and behavioral modification capabilities to assist members by integrating evidence-based medical and psychosocial interventions along with care coaching in a 52-week outpatient treatment solution.

Catasys said OnTrak is improving member health and reducing inpatient and emergency room utilization, driving a more than 50 percent reduction in total health insurers' costs for enrolled members.
