New Hartford Whalers license plates to debut

Connecticut officials today plan to unveil new Hartford Whalers license plates whose proceeds will benefit the Connecticut Children's Medical Center's dialysis center.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman and Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Michael Bzdyra will make the announcement at 1 p.m. along with Connecticut Children's Medical Center President and CEO James Shmerling, along with other state officials.

The new plate commemorates the former NHL hockey team. Sales of the license plates will be directed to the new Connecticut Children's infusion and dialysis center.

The announcement will be made at Connecticut Children's at 282 Washington St. in Hartford.
