Connecticut's statewide single-family house sales slumped to start the new year, but their median price rose. Condo sales rose in January, yet their median price was flat, a fresh survey shows.

There were 2,088 houses sold last month across the state, down 3.7 percent from 2,165 units sold in Jan. 2017, Boston publisher The Warren Group said Tuesday.

Single-family median price in January was $235,000 vs. $227,000 a year earlier, the publisher of The Commercial Record said.

"January's median single-family home price hitting $235,000 marked the highest price achieved for the month since January 2011," said Warren Group CEO Timothy Warren.

Condo sales in Jan. totaled 610 units, up 3.9 percent from 586 sold a year earlier. Their median price was unchanged at $150,000, Warren said.
