The University of Hartford has tagged Massachusetts business educator Amy Z. Zeng as its business-school dean, effective Aug. 1.

Zeng, a professor and assistant dean of the Robert A. Foisie School of Business at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, will head UHart's Barney School of Business, Provost H. Frederick Sweitzer announced Wednesday.

Zeng, who has degrees in business administration and industrial engineering, succeeds Martin S. Roth, who departed in June to helm the South Carolina's University of Charleston as president.

Zeng earned her bachelor's in industrial management engineering from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in China. She received her master's from the University of Washington and her doctorate from Penn State's Smeal College of Business Administration.
