Kathy's Urgent Care is opening Monday its first Berlin walk-in clinic -- its third in Greater Hartford, officials say. Meantime, plans for a downtown Hartford clinic have stalled.

The Wethersfield operator of urgent-care clinics will make its Berlin debut in about 6,000 square feet at 175 Webster Square, next door to a store run by landlord Ocean State Job Lot, serving patients from Berlin, Cromwell and New Britain, founder-Chief Medical Officer Thomas A. Brown said.

Kathy's other locations are 72 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield; and 856 Cromwell Ave., Rocky Hill.

Between 12 to 15 staffers will oversee treatments in five exam rooms and one X-ray room for non-threatening injuries and illnesses that include physicals for athletes, transport operators and immigrants, pre-operative physicals, sleep-apnea screening and weight-control counseling. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Brown said via email that plans for a Kathy's clinic that was to have opened by now in about 6,700 square feet of the former streetfront CVS pharmacy-store space at 750 Main St., opposite the Old State House, have met with "unexpected delays.''

Brown says the downtown clinic is now projected to open by early 2019.

Another planned location for Farmington also has been delayed. He did not elaborate.
