Stamford’s Gartner to add 400 jobs via $5M state loan

A Stamford-based research and advisory firm announced Thursday it plans to expand its workforce by 400 with help from a $5 million state loan.

Gartner Inc., headquartered at 56 Top Gallant Road, said it has leased additional office space in Stamford at 700 Fairfield Ave. to house 400 new jobs over the next five years.

The Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) will provide a $5 million loan for facility improvement and other expenses. DECD may forgive all or a portion of the loan if Gartner hits its job targets.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said these investments are key to attracting businesses and jobs to the state.

Gartner currently has over 1,300 employees in Connecticut and more than 15,000 worldwide. The company provides services for more than 15,000 organizations in over 100 countries.

Gartner CEO Gene Hall said the company, which provides advisory services in finance, IT, customer service, human resources, legal, marketing and sales, has added 300 Connecticut jobs in the last five years.
