Hartford health insurer Aetna on Wednesday named Keith Wisdom as chief executive overseeing its new Medicaid health plan in Kansas.
Wisdom, a 25-year veteran in health care, will serve as CEO for Aetna Better Health of Kansas, which was recently selected by the state's Department of Health and Environment to offer Medicaid benefits statewide beginning Jan. 1, 2019.
Wisdom, whose term begins immediately, is charged with building a local market team, improving financial performance and care quality for the Kansas Medicaid health plan.
He recently served as general manager for Aetna's Medicare business in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Illinois and Missouri, managing sales, plan performance, strategy, customer service agendas and product design. Wisdom also supervised revenue, compliance, operations and medical cost structure positioning.
Wisdom also held roles as Aetna's market president for Kansas, Nebraska and western Missouri and others at UnitedHealthCare, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City and Arthur Andersen.
