Two new Connecticut Dunkin' Donuts restaurants opening Thursday in Simsbury and Wallingford will feature restyled store designs, employee uniforms and service amenities.

The Boston coffee, pastries and hot sandwiches franchisor said the new restaurants at 1261 Hopmeadow St. in Simsbury, and at 1101 N. Colony Road in Wallingford, are the first in this state and among 50 new and remodeled Dunkin' Donuts shops incorporating the features. Along with dining-service space redesigned to be more open and colorful, the new Dunkin' stores feature a new tap system for serving cold beverages.

The Wallingford store features an On-the-Go drive-thru lane for customer orders placed via its mobile app.

Later, the Simsbury store will feature fully-integrated digital kiosks that customers can use to place orders themselves and track them via a digital order-board. It also has a designated area for mobile-order pickups.

Dunkin' Donuts recently announced plans to shorten its name to just "Dunkin," beginning in 2019.
