A new behavioral health pharmacy will debut next week on Wadsworth Street in Hartford.

The pharmacy, located at the Catholic Charities' Institute for the Hispanic Family, is founded under a partnership between the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford and Genoa Healthcare, a national provider of pharmacy, outpatient telepsychiatry and medication management services.

Catholic Charities and Genoa will debut the new on-site pharmacy at the institute, which serves Catholic Charities' clients, employees and their families, on Monday at 45 Wadsworth St. It will be Genoa's 12th pharmacy in Connecticut.

Officials said the pharmacy at the 24,000-square-foot facility will be supported by Genoa pharmacists and technicians, who will work with its team of prescribers, nurses and caseworkers to develop treatment plans for patients.

Archdiocese spokesman John Noonan said the pharmacy is located in the facility's lobby, providing key access at the institute, which served over 2,700 behavioral health clients last fiscal year.

The $5.5 million institute was completed in 2008, according to Hartford's JCJ Architecture, who designed the building.

Genoa says it's the largest provider of pharmacy, outpatient telepsychiatry and medication management services in the country, according to its website.

Founded 15-plus years ago, Genoa serves over 650,000 patients nationwide each year. It also fills more than 15 million prescriptions annually with over 435 pharmacies housed at community mental health centers.

Genoa has Connecticut locations in East Hartford, Plainville, Manchester, Enfield, Meriden, New London and other cities and towns.
