At Whitcraft LLC, a healthy lifestyle can translate to paid time off.
That's because employees on the company's health plan can earn "wellness points" for participating in health screenings, completing a health risk assessment and going through health coaching if they don't meet certain biometric guidelines.
Those wellness points can lead to discounts on employee insurance contributions, and can also be exchanged for rewards like gift cards or paid days off.
While the program offers employees ways to end bad habits (like a smoking-cessation initiative), it also encourages them to develop new healthy ones.
Throughout the year, Whitcraft holds 12 wellness challenges ranging from a "maintain or lose" weight-loss competition over the holiday season, to "Five-A-Day" fruit and vegetable challenges.
