The seven "Women Who Mean Business" honorees have great advice for other women on how to succeed.

Here is a taste of what these inspiring women have to say:

Bring all of yourself to the work that you do. See fear and self-doubt as a map for growth. Don't compare yourself to others, but to who you were yesterday. Believe you can achieve your dreams. Embrace what makes you different.

New Haven BIZ honored the seven women for their achievements at its 2019 Women Who Mean Business awards ceremony on April 2. At the event, at Anthony's Ocean View in New Haven, the honorees spoke about their accomplishments and about the strong women who inspired them. They also gave advice for future female leaders.

We wanted to share what these women had to say with everyone. Click on their names below to see their videos:

Mary Barneby, CEO, Girl Scouts of Connecticut.

Jennifer Gerarda Brown, dean, Quinnipiac University School of Law, Hamden.

Evelyn Gard, associate dean, Gateway Community College, New Haven, Housatonic Community College, Bridgeport.
